Cornerstone Fellowship

Living with consistency, character, and conviction in Christ

Cornerstone Fellowship seeks to be a distinctively Christian community that encourages one another to mature as Jesus' disciples, equipped to serve others so that they may experience God's love.

Cornerstone welcomes those that are new or old in their careers and also those that are just thinking about one. We meet on Fridays at 7:30.

We will actively practice being disciples of Jesus Christ by:
Loving the Lord with all our hearts, with all our souls, with all our strength and with all our minds (Luke 10:27)
Agreeing to disagree but not to be disagreeable (Hebrews 12:14)
Meeting as often as possible. (Hebrews 10:25)
Being in one spirit and purpose. (Phil 2:1-2)
Bring considerate and speaking evil of no one (Titus 3:2)
Using Scripture for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:15-17)
Thinking accurately and truthfully about ourselves (Romans 12:3)

Proposal: Cornerstone Outline for May and Beyond

How can our fellowship impact the world and our community?

In Mark 12 a teacher of the law asks Jesus which of the commandments is most important
"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
Mark 12:29-31
A reminder: each month we should make available at least one opportunity to apply what we have learned through action. This past year the activities of the fellowship have been tailored to challenge each individual to glorify God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. This upcoming quarter, we hope to continue the vision by learning to obey the second part of God’s command: loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Practical Action Opportunities
Service ministries, volunteer opportunities, and application of the lessons we have learned. Note that although there is usually more than one opportunity each month: this is done with the understanding that each individual has a desire to serve God in a different way. The “practical action opportunities” allow them to both wet their palate as well as create consistency.
Bible Studies/Discussion Topics
In each of these topics we should ask the speakers to keep this in mind.

  1. Does the scripture give us a deeper understanding of the issue at hand? Is it biblically correlated?
  2. How is it relevant to us as Jesus’ disciples and how should we respond?
  3. How do we communicate the gospel when these issues present themselves?
